Drought Spreading and also, a Wedding

Thought it might be of interest, especially to those living in CA, the Southwest, or the Southeast. Might want to buy that wall-full of bottled water now... So far, the Northeast is looking relatively fine in that respect. We're actually having a bit more rain than some folks might like, like my FIL, for instance. Hay's tall enough to harvest, but the weather's been too wet.
Should be an interesting summer...

On a completely different note, we went to nephew Christopher and his now-wife Elizabeth's wedding this afternoon, over in Troy, NY.
Big wedding, lots of family from both sides were there. Wedding was in the chapel at RPI, where they'd gone to school. The priest was a pretty interesting guy - both funny and serious, and very passionate about the whole concept of marriage and what it all meant. Too bad more ministers aren't like him. Very much for living life and taking ownership of your part in things, not just being a spectator.
Reception was at a hotel nearby, the Franklin Plaza. It was built before the Civil War, and is still in excellent condition. The elevator we went up in was small and run by a human operator, who told us that the contract for building the Monitor was signed in this building. The staff were absolutely amazing, both in courtesy and competence.
There was much flashing of cameras, talking with people, dancing by some people, and excellent appetizers and dinners. When we left the happy couple and many other folks were hitting the dance floor in earnest.
fitzw is working this weekend, so we were among the earlier departing group -- and a good thing too, as the migration failed -- for some reason the connection isn't staying open long enough. So, other measures are being taken.
A lovely afternoon though, and I hope they have a long and wonderful life together.
