Hm. Let's see, what did I do? Some weaving, of course. Not much with the house besides wash a few dishes. Walked to the bank in the morning to deposit a check. We were naughty and went out to lunch at the local Chinese place - walked there at least. Wrote a short letter to Z that we need to print out and mail. Some work on the books (or was that Thursday?), and stuff online.

We were going to dress up for the B&N HP party, but L wasn't up for it and would have been too hot, with the number of people who were there. I did wear a funky multi-colored swirl of 'hair in my hair, just for something different. [livejournal.com profile] islenskr and looked very spiff in their outfits, which were essentially regular clothing with cloaks, but the clothing choices were excellent, and she had a very nice broom, and he had a good wand too, for accessories.

A number of Bergenthalers were there and we enjoyed chatting from time to time. L found some books he liked, plus one for us to share; The Golden Compass. I found a book on native plants of the Northeast, an excellent find. I'd been thinking I really needed something like this, and there it was.

Had some nice chats with complete strangers, including one with two folks over by the occult/new age section -- we all agreed that the section could use some work. Although Kalliera did find a book of 3 books, including a source going back to the 1530's I think -- we were joking that we could start an SCA 'magic' order -- although of course it would have to be persona-only, and likely be 'secret'. No strutting about in plain view, like some folks who play vampires in broad daylight. Also, SCA has specific rules regarding religion and magic, interestingly enough.

This morning we'll be hitting Webs and then the vendors at the NE weaver seminar at Smith, then up to the farm for the day. Doris is there, and Cousin Karla will be working today, so a full house.

Well, the morning didn't go very much as planned... I'd opened a bank account with Bank of America this past winter because it was required for the chiropractor's office to do direct deposits.... then I stopped working there regularly, but kept the account in case I did any subbing then. Then a few months ago the bank put $25 in the account, as a thank you for opening the account.... then they started deducting a $5.95 monthly fee from it... our best guess is because no business was happening with the account. And both their web site and their phone menu are terribly unhelpful.

And Paypal's giving me a few issues (still is). So we decided to at least close the Bank of America account, and open a new account at United to handle internet transfers (to get money out of Paypal, which has taken about $20 from the account for who knows what fees, since I haven't done a darn thing with it). When we finally got to see someone, the lady at Bank of America was very helpful, and even reversed the fees on the account, so I got the whole amount.

So, we closed an account, opened an account, and transferred some money away from Paypal to the new account, but no gardening or sewing in the a.m.

We _did_ make it to see the HP movie. It was quite enjoyable in and of itself. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] rick_wolffe that it's a bridge movie. In fact, what character development exists is dependent on people having either read the books or seen the previous movies. Definitely not as stellar as some of the earlier movies, but nice to see everyone again.

Did get a little bit done around the house, and threading of the warp is done and I'm in the midst of winding it onto the back bar. Should be able to finish that up and start weaving tomorrow.
