Countess Elaina of Oaklawn passed away yesterday, in Caid. She was a Countess, former queen of the East, Lady of the Rose, and a mainstay at Information Point at Pennsic for many years, among other things. It was during her and Rhys' reign that Bergental became a barony.

They had some sort of ongoing thing during the reign about their alter egos being Muffy and Biff, two yuppies. I never quite understood it, but mauve was definitely a component, so when she stepped down I made her a mauve fabric county coronet. I have a little problem with something being too tacky, so I beaded white roses and embroidered oak leaves on it. Which may or may not have helped.... anyway, it was just a silly little thing but she loved it and wore it on many occasions, at least at Pennsic. Fabric coronets are handy, in the way they can be folded up and carried easily ;)

Funny, smart, helpful, strong-minded. She will be missed by many.
