One of her better posts, IMHO. The different pleasures derived from freedom from discipline and from within discipline.
This evening we sort of combined them.... walked to Friendly's because L wanted some AC and I didn't disagree that a little AC would be nice. Had sandwiches (I had a turkey supermelt with mixed veggies side). But having enjoyed fresh strawberries with cream a few times over the past several days, neither of us were interested in the ice cream sundaes at Friendly's (serious amounts of high fructose corn syrup!).
And yesterday, we had fun using the pea sheller I'd bought along with the canning equipment, and my! those were some tasty peas.
I think we're getting spoiled for 'convenient' foods...
