Golden Compass Meme and Garden
Apr. 26th, 2007 07:40 pmThe Golden Compass is a moving coming out in December. It looks kind of interesting. You can learn a bit about the movie, there's music with the site that's decent, and you can answer questions (click on Daemons on the menu) in order to choose your 'daemon' -- the idea is that your soul is in an animal that stays with you, which is interesting in and of itself. For people with slow connections, this site might be a little pokey.
His name was supposed to be Serenos, but the software malfunctioned and I had to answer the questions again. Interesting... and I do like ocelots :)
fitzw did more work on the garden beds today. I did some more spinning of the 2nd dip indigo-dyed Cotswold, then after lunch went out and started to do some work on the old existing garden bed at the side of the house. It's mostly ready, but I wanted to get a few of the larger weeds out, etc. -- and discovered that the Romaine and the Butter Crunch lettuces had babies. Lots of them. And the Sorel came through the winter, so I have lots of volunteers for the new year. And my tomato seedlings are mostly doing pretty well too, so..... anyone want seeds for starting buttercrunch lettus, romaine lettuce, sorel (a sour/lemonish green that adds great zing to a salad), amish paste tomato, or roma tomato seeds, let me know.
Also, for the locals, There are way too many of the volunteer lettuce plants, so if you want some, contact me and we'll set up a time for you to come over and get some. Oy. There are probably close to 100 of the buttercrunch ones, although they're all on top of each other, so it'll be a little work to get them apart safely.
