More on Coronation
Apr. 16th, 2007 12:33 pmOther folks have posted more on Coronation, so I'll try not to be redundant. The coronation ceremony was beautifully done, and Concentus only had one hiccup in our performance during the processing and recessing of the royals -- as one person said to
fitzw, it reminded them that the music was being sung by real people, not played on a box :D
After a break for the tournament, eating (thank goodness for the excellent dayboard, and my thanks again to
etainmbw for getting a generous plateful of it for me), visiting, business, etc., the First Court of Griffith and Aikaterine took place, in which Taliesin ap Talon received his Tyger's Cub, a most worthy young gentle. Chatting with him later in the evening, he referred to cooking as one of his favorite hobbies :)

The EK Narrowworkers changed officers from Mistress Angharad to Lady Rosina von Schaffhausen,
rosinavs and we got to see their charter up close, with the marvelous seals on the narrowwork bands, and Angharad and I got to congratulate each other :)
The EK Stationers presented a couple of girdle books in the colors that their majesties had chosen for their first court, one blue, one green, both lined with gold fabric.
Dinner was also excellent, and a bit of it came home with us, which I think I'll have some of for lunch. And we brought home a bag of apples, which I'm hoping will become applesauce. We did a bit more singing and had great fun with that, and danced a pavonne at the end of dinner. Cleanup happened quickly and thoroughly. Great multi-group crew.
The only mishap for us was that each thought the other had put the scroll in the car, so it didn't come home with us. But apparently someone has it and so I should be able to get it later this week. I'm just glad it's safe and sound, as Sunniva did some amazing work on it!
We made it home safely, had a lovely breakfast at Cote's with House MacCarthaigh-MacMinn,
mizpagan and friends, then wandered up to the Sundered Lands to loan a book to
gwynt_y_storm from the new additions to the lending library and stayed to chat for a while, as it was way to nasty out to go up to the farm.
