HS Meme that's going around
Apr. 7th, 2007 11:23 pmNot prone to doing lots of memes, but this one finally got me...
HS MEME
1. Who was your best friend?
Two: Mark Lin and Carolyn Choh.
2.What sports did you play?
X-country and track, both indifferently. Was much better at SCUBA diving, thanks.
3. What kind of car did you drive?
Car? Not in Hong Kong; have to be 18 just to get a learner's permit.
4. It's Friday night, where were you?
Most likely reading or painting at home.
5. Were you a party animal?
Nope. Although the New Year's Eve party with the diving club was fun :)
6. Were you considered a flirt?
Nope.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Choir. And got to be one of the favorite wives in the King and I, and performed at the HK fine arts centre.
8. Were you a nerd?
Probably. But then, I think most of the people in my high school were nerds.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
No.
10. Can you sing the fight song?
n/a
11. Who were your favorite teachers?
Peter Cohen (art) & Rev. Bill Anderson (guidance counselor) mostly, but I wouldn't have made it through one of my math classes without Mr. Ostheller (math), and Ronnie Chernin and I got on pretty well in my senior year; she taught me a lot about writing when I was applying to colleges.
12. Where did you sit during lunch?
If in the cafeteria, usually at a table near the windows, playing backgammon and chatting with my friend Mark. If we weren't on the same lunch schedule, I usually bolted lunch and went down to the art rooms and played with clay.
13.What was your school's full name?
Hong Kong International School
14. School mascot?
None that I know of. No football team, although we had swimming, track & field, soccer, and basketball.
15. Did you go to Prom?
Yes, with my friend Mark.
16. If you could go back and do it over, would you?
I wouldn't look to do it over again, but it was mostly pretty good.
17. What do you remember most about graduation?
Slide show of seniors, chatting with parents and Carolyn C and a few of the other seniors, trying to get one girl's hat to stay on.
18. What was your fav. class?
Hmm, tough choice. Ceramics, oriental brush painting, marine biology, and computer programming were all pretty good. Choir was fun too, but I think I enjoy things more where I can interact more.
19. Where were you on senior skip day?
I don't think we had one of those, but maybe I was too busy making pottery :)
20. Did you have a job your senior year?
Only during the summer.
21. Where did you go most often for lunch?
See #12
22. Have you gained weight since then?
Yes.
23. What did you do after graduation?
Went home.
24. When did you graduate?
1981
25. Who was your Senior prom date?
Mark Lin (although he was a junior). Funny, smart, charming, and could dance :)
26. Are you going to your 10 year reunion?
Gone by already, and was in another country. They had another reunion last summer and it was only in Boston, but it was at the same time as Pennsic. Oh well.
27. Who was your home room teacher?
We didn't have those. We did have teachers assigned as guidance counselors. I started with G. Barnes in 10th grade, then switched over to Bill Anderson.
28. Who will repost this after you?
No idea.

Side note: I was right on the vocab test -- I have smart friends :)
