fitzw decided he wanted to fix the dryer, so he ordered a replacement belt, which came today. He fixed the dryer quite quickly, and since I got in a bunch of linen last week, I decided to run the linen through it to test it. Most of what I got will go to making regular clothing, but some might still go to SCAdian clothing; since we sometimes loan clothing out, it's best to play it safe and pre-shrink everything, as most people use dryers. So, three loads have gone through so far, and the belt appears to be working just fine. Yay!
We walked to Stop & Shop and also returned some soda bottles and cans while there. Not as many as we used to have, yay!
fitzw wanted to try out using the wheeled milk crate thing with the extendable handle -- present from
sorcieredeneige and her mother, which we used at Birka as well. After a false start at the store, he didn't have any problems with it, being mindful of potholes in the sidewalk (they haven't borne up well under the winter weather).
I got to the bottom of another box this afternoon! Some of what I sorted out of it still needs to go to their proper homes, which will hopefully happen tomorrow.
And today I made chili from scratch! I haven't had chili at home for quite a while, because all of the commercial stuff, at least at stores near us, has too much sodium in it.
