More on Tuesday!
Mar. 6th, 2007 09:30 pmSo, I was writing about insulating moving downstairs, before I had to go to work. (Also got a much-needed adjustment at the chiros' office, head to toe.)
I thought I was supposed to be reading more this morning, but my body decided I needed more sleep first thing, so I got a late start. Then I remembered how cold it continue to be today and the rest of the week, so I figured it made more sense to follow the Earth path by insulating the house more, so that we would use less fuel.
I don't really have a way to hang fabric on the walls in the living/dining room, where the thermostat is, but even insulating the lower part of the walls would be helpful. So, off I went upstairs and found the bin of fabrics and scraps we're saving for rag rugs and such. We have a couple of card tables we won't be using for a while, so I laid several layers of fabric over each of them and leaned them against the front wall. I left space between them so we can still get at the electrical outlet, and laid more fabric over the near ends of the tables, to cover the wall between them and above the outlet. I bagged some other scraps and leaned them against the wall under the windows as well. Tomorrow I'll go up to Z's room and fetch down some blankets and such, and stuff them against some other parts of the walls. And, I can probably find a way to hang a comforter off the back of the piano. The less heat the room loses, the better. The windows are all brand new, double-glazed, etc., so they're quite good and likely more insulating than some parts of the walls :P
Ooo, did I write that
fitzw made bread Sunday night? It's quite yummy, and makes even PB&J taste better. I also got gingerbread cookies from
sorcieredeneige for my b-day, which we just finished off after dinner tonight. Yummmm.... molasses, brown sugar, and ginger....
Tonight we watched NCIS, then read a little from _The Protector's War_, and now I'm doing a little catch-up, and hope to do some more reading, perhaps an article or two from various web sites, and maybe a bit of the book I thought I'd be reading this morning.
