Update on Sunday. Doris and Ma loved the studiolo, altho' we spent more time talking about weaving and the materials we have in the shop than about the construction of the building. Ma brought us a dozen fresh eggs from the farm! A most excellent studio-warming gift. Doris also got a tour of the print shop, but Ma was getting chilly so she and I went inside, where she got to see what I've been doing on the table loom. Doris and [livejournal.com profile] fitzw came in finally and we sat and chatted and played with Peredur Mawr, with a short visit from her majesty Roselynde when she was brought downstairs by her loyal servant, [livejournal.com profile] fitzw. Then off to Union Station/Spaghetti Freddy's in Noho for Sunday brunch, where a lovely and stuffing time was had by all.

Afterwards we bid adieu in the parking lot so that Doris could take Ma back to Ashfield, and [livejournal.com profile] fitzw and I could do a bit of shopping. We hit Acme Surplus and found that they still had the wool socks and book reader we wanted, plus we picked up a few other first aid items I still needed for the kits. Then we went to Army/Navy Surplus in Hadley and looked around. I got a winter camo-shirt for fun, and we picked up a camping spade/knife/saw/axe combo thing, and a couple of Zippo lighters and fuel. We wanted lighters that can be refilled. They're more expensive up front than disposables, but it works out in the long run. For mine, it'll be a bit longer run, as I got one of the fancier cases.

[livejournal.com profile] fitzw opted to look elsewhere for a compass. Hiking this year looks to be interesting and hopefully fun.

We stopped on the way home to pick up a few things at Stop&Shop (and had to go back later for laundry detergent because I forgot we were out - and got ice cream while we were there...). Since shopping took us a while, no more work in the shop yesterday, and none today since we were moving lots of things and it was cold today.

Pretty much everything we wanted to move on the first floor is done. And [livejournal.com profile] fitzw seems to have fixed a wall clock that stopped working several years ago.

The cats like us spending more time downstairs. With the two sofas kitty corner to one another and a flat cushion on a trunk in front of them, we have a comfy set up where everyone can sit together without crowding one another (very important for cats).
