Last night wasn't great with all the wind. We lost power briefly a couple of times and then for longer. I was thinking about what would be useful to have in the library and what things to move out of there, if we all had to be in there to stay warm during a long power outage. I ended up going downstairs, which was good because I turned off the UPSs that were trying to alert us. Then I stacked a few things against the patio doors, seeing as they're glass. Then as I was puttering about, the power came back on, so I shut off a few things in case we lost power again, and went back up to bed. Happily, no further power outages ensued, although it was still windy enough the first half of the day that I was glad to stay inside.

I'm working on trying to set up a web site for selling my work. I've built websites before but it was a very long time ago. Today I've begun bashing my head on things as I try to figure out where things are. The site comes with some page starts - template for page, for various communication and commerce pages, etc. At the moment I don't know enough to even really complain in any useful way. Currently at the "I feel like an idiot" stage, but eventually I'll probably figure it out. Either that or I'll figure out who to get help from... they do have help people on the web host but I don't think I can utilize them very well just yet. Perfect thing to do on one's birthday, right? Still, it's for me, so there's that...

Also, our scanner doesn't really work. The interface was built on flashplayer. There's a work around that should do for scanning the logo I drew up, but it won't be able to handle scanning artwork anymore. So I'll be looking for a new scanner.

And, also getting a new tablet, because IG doesn't recognize computers as "devices" so I can't post on IG or wherever else I need to be posting, marketing-wise.

I do have some offers of help with aspects of building the website, so I know one way or another this can happen. I'm just reluctant to follow-up on some of the offers because I'm feeling rather stupid at the moment. If I'd stayed in the software business I would have kept up - right now my experience just tells me how much I don't know.

Ah well. There's plenty to do while banging my head on that wall. I have to take photos of all the pouches I made last year and that's something I have the skills for. I need to figure out the best setup for photographing a few art quilts as well. Also have to apply for a sales tax ID thingie - tomorrow. If I keep at it, I should make some progress by the end of the week.

Good news of sorts -- the Real ID deadline was extended to October. Likely the pandemic is the reason for that, but now maybe I'll have a chance to get a vaccination before going to deal with that.

Tomorrow is boob-squish day. It was supposed to happen last month but I forgot to go :D And really, it was supposed to happen a year ago but pandemic. Yay!

I should also be setting up a place to start seeds... maybe if I clear out under the table in the living room... I stuffed some roving and yarn under there as insulation for the winter, but despite the cold right now, the weather really is getting warmer. Sugaring has started :)
