Library and Barn, Z and V

helwenLyle took the west windows off the library so I could paint the indoor side of the frames -- the windows cover the window openings rather than fitting into them, plus they're different sizes, so I can't actually reach the front surfaces of them. It's good to have them painted though - protects the frames from damp. Next up for the windows will be putting some window film on them...
I did some caulking and patching in the library this week. Today I painted the wall around the west door -- I'd left a few inches bare around the edges because I thought the future door frame would overlap the wall, but we're doing a different kind of door frame. Also patched and painted a few spots that cracked over the past year. Hoping that those spots will stabilize -- I think they didn't dry properly last year.
L also repaired a window on the barn, which has been partially covered in plastic sheeting for a few years - now all glass 🙂

Z and V were here this week. They're in NY today because a thing for the truck has to be renewed but they couldn't do it before because he was out-of-state on a job. They'll be back here tomorrow sometime and staying for another week, before taking off on another assignment.
Their trailer's now on the concrete pad in the courtyard (space created by the library and two retaining walls). MUCH better for when they're here in the winter than down on the open field. They're working on some changes to the trailer to make it work better for them. So, everyone's doing construction projects :D
Other things happened too, like mowing and picking up a couple of concrete post bases (from local Buy Nothing Project), etc. The post bases will become part of the blue shed's side roof project -- putting posts under the corners of the leading edge of the roof, for snow support.
