Having failed to find the matchstick blind hardware for several days, we went and bought some parts that would do the job.

I moved the furnishings and took down the winter drapery in the corner of the library that has the two windows needing blinds, and put up the angle brackets. Unfortunately the bolts we got were a little too wide for the slots on the blinds, but Lyle carved the slots wide enough and now they're up. Teamwork!

There's a mystery buzzing in the northeast corner of the library, possibly the inner part of the eaves or possibly inside the wall... hoping it's the former. Had to go get more hornet and wasp spray -- Lyle asked for two cans because it's been a heckuva summer for these critters.

While I have the elven chandelier down, I'm re-doing the upper candle holder. The holder part was too high up and thus not taking full advantage of the lamp shade. However the holder was also the spacer and stabilizer for the three supporting chains...So I made a separate stabilizer and cut the wires for the candle holder. Next up will be making hangers on the holder so they can hang off of the new stabilizer. I figured out the hanger thing when I was making the smaller wall lights last year -- I can lift the holder out by one of the hangers, light the candle and put it back in. Easier than stabbing blindly with a lighter ;)

Anyway. Will be moving some furniture around tomorrow and hopefully the library space will make more sense then...

Bought a tube of caulk today, among other things. The library is more than usable but isn't finished by any means. I'll be doing a bit of sealing of seams tomorrow.
