Harvest Home, August 9-12
Jul. 16th, 2013 03:08 pmWho: Medievalists (actually early times like Roman Empire to Renaissance), people into learning and/or teaching stuff in a relaxed atmosphere
When: August 9, 10:00 a.m. - August 12, 10:00 a.m.
Where: 323 Apple Valley Road, Ashfield, MA
What: Harvest Home is a small, early period/medieval/renaissance-themed gathering, usually featuring a few classes and sometimes archery and sometimes other activities, depending on who comes. An attempt at dressing the part is appreciated; if you don't feel you have anything suitable, contact me and we can probably find something for you to wear. There is camping, and this year we will have a fire pit!
We don't have classes formally planned yet, but we can always do something with bookbinding, calligraphy, illumination, the useful knots class, spinning, or other folks are more than welcome to offer a class. I'm hoping to do some cooking over the fire -- not a skill I currently possess, so this will be a good opportunity to try that out; plans are in the works.
Concentus's practice will be happening Sunday evening, but folks are welcome to hang out.
Why: Share and/or acquire knowledge, meet folks, hang out with friends.
Hosts: Lyle and Heather Gray, courtesy of Barony of Bergental
Fees: None for the site. Please police your area and leave our place looking like it did before the event or better (old SCA tradition), thanks.
Space Limitation: We don't have a lot of parking -- PLEASE CARPOOL!
