According to the FDA's analysis in 2007, the lipsticks with the highest amount of lead are: Cover Girl, Revlon, Body Shop, Clinique, L'Oreal, Maybelline, Estee Lauder, MAC, Dior and Burt's Bees.

Fitzw asked me why there's any lead in lipstick, and I said it might be a consistency thing -- more even/smoother coating... Interestingly, I seem to naturally choose ones that have low levels... Even so, I'm glad I don't wear it on a regular basis.

I thought I had a link, but EWG's Skin Deep (do a search) is a great site to check before buying cosmetics, toothpaste, etc. The FDA doesn't regulate any of these, and it's surprising how many sunblocks have carcinogens activated by the sun.
