Here is hoping everyone finds peace in their lives, happy times with loved ones, and the best possible health in the new year!

We've already had Christmas at the farm last week. Tomorrow we're taking some friends to the Cloisters (decorated with medieval garlands of greens, fruits, and nuts), and to the Met. Last year we organized a huge trip to the Met, and while it was a lot of fun it was also kind of a big headache for me. This year I wanted a more mellow visit, so I was selfish and only arranged for whoever could fit into one vehicle. Next year maybe I'll look at some dates, propose whatever looks good, and if people all meet up at the museum, great. Caravanning is hard to do when everyone wants to drive at different speeds. We prefer not to drive more than 5-10 miles over the limit, thanks (and preferably not more than 5). Others prefer 15-20.... not only do we not care for it, but neither does our vehicle's engine, and the mpg's not so good either. So, a nice half dozen tomorrow :)
Christmas Eve we'll be at a friend's house in the evening, and the next morning is just us two. I love my friends and family, but for all that
fitzw and I are often in the house at the same time, usually we're doing our separate things. So it's nice to have a little quiet time. In the afternoon/evening, it's off for Chinese and a movie with friends. Tuesday I work off and on during the morning and afternoon, as does
fitzw - altho' he'll probably be taking time off to pick up Z (meeting days/times to be finalized sometime today). And as of today, it now looks like I won't be working next Wednesday and Thursday, but with Z here I'll be doing other things, so still only going to the demo at the Quadrangle on Friday.
Meantime, still have to wrap a couple of gifts for the party on [EDIT: Sunday], and of course have sent almost none of my cards out. Ah well. Got the parental units and a couple of others out. More to follow.
