Local artists, all have excellent work:

Stephen Earp Redware: New England Folk Pottery - lots of pottery appropriate to late 18th/early 19th c., and simply attractive and well made. Picked up a few pieces for when we finally get a demo kit together for the local historical society. I expect some of the pieces to work their way into our everyday dishes though, as a number of our medieval dishes have...

- Open Studio & Seconds Sale, Sat-Sun, Nov 27-28, 10:00am - 5:00pm
- 15 Masonic Ave, Shelburne Falls, MA, 01370

E.M. Smith Pottery (Eric Smith) - Also pottery, and affordable prices. Mix of styles, some contemporary, some older. Picked up a nifty salt shaker from them, which I'll have to photograph and put up here someday maybe. Works quite well although not the usual design with holes on top. I'm inclined to think the original piece was actually for pouncing...

- Holiday Sale, Nov 26-27 and Dec 4-5, 10:00am - 5:00pm
- 156 Nash Road, Cummington, MA 01026

Good Dirt Pottery (Jaye Pope) - contemporary, have gotten bowls from her in the past too. She has some stuff up online you can see.
- Dec 11-12, 18-19. Saturday hours are 10-4, Sunday 12-4.
- 38 Main Street, Montague, MA 01351

And look, some friends of mine finally have a web site!
Chena River Marblers -- marbled papers, paper goods, and silk goods.

Do check out their schedule and address info -- they have an open studio/seconds/end of year sale on Dec. 11 and 12.

One of my favorite things to do there is make a piece of marbled paper. They let anyone do it -- with help and instruction of course. I advise doing that first; then while it's drying, you can wander around looking at all of their lovely stuff. Then you get to take your paper home with you -- free! Of course, you may end up purchasing something of theirs while you're there, but there are much worse things you could be spending money on, and they're lovely people.

While I don't have immediate need for new pottery, once some plans come to fruition I'll need some cups & bowls.

First and third potters for those :)

Well, and depending on your tastes, there is of course Eadric, whose stuff I love, just he isn't local to me and having an open studio.

I'm especially keen to check out the seconds at Stephen Earp's place. And in firsts, we're hoping he'll have a working puzzle mug. Fitzw really wants one.
