Yes, Fitzw and I voted yesterday. No, not giving all the gory details.

I will say that I voted yes on the housing question, because developers are using it as a way to build yet more expensive house, because communities are required to support it even if they can't afford it, and because individual housing that is affordable is not allowed to be counted as affordable housing because they aren't part of an apartment complex. Sunderland has been doing battle with a developer for all of these reasons for a few years now.

We do need some kind of housing legislation, but the current one is not doing the job, and amending it isn't going to help. Sometimes it's better to scrap a project and start over.

Our voting booths have a pencil and we mark big X's on our ballots -- the only machine we have is the hand-cranked one. You stick your ballot into the slot and they roll it into the box, which turns the counter.

I honestly didn't vote because I could not for the life of me figure which I disliked more; usually in the case of "better of the worst", I can but this one was pretty rare. I dislike that!

I definitely would prefer better choices as well, but I was there as much for the referendum questions as anything else. And I like our state rep, Ben Downing - he rocks.
