To foil cross-posting

1. Go to your "Journal" menu, and select "Journal Style".
2. To the right, you'll see what theme you're using, with a link stating "Customize Your Theme". Click that link.
3. Scroll down a little ways, and you'll see that on the left side of your screen, you have multiple options to modify your theme. Click on the "Custom CSS" link, and it should load the options for doing Custom CSS.
4. From here, all you have to do is go to the "Custom Stylesheet", and put in...
.b-repost-item {display:none}
Once that's in there, you want to save the changes, and you should be done. Leave everything else as it is (unless you want to remove more things!).
EDIT: So apparently this isn't that great a fix -- see a link in the comments of this post. I can't read the post because it's too visually challenging for me. For those with privacy concerns, I expect it's worth it to read the additional information.
I have only a few filters, and I expect people who are on those filters to keep what they read to themselves, quite frankly. And if they can't, then they won't be staying on those filters.

Date: 2010-09-02 03:19 pm (UTC)I like to keep various areas of my life separate. Work, family, SCA, friends, other interests, etc. Obviously there's considerable overlap in some areas, but there's a lot less in others.
I have several different filters on my flist, the last thing I need is people who are not on a particular filter finding out about it. If I wanted them to know, I'd have included them.
There are all sorts of Real World safety issues involved here, not just privacy, but also identity and the 2 are not the same. I recommend Siderea's post here: http://siderea.livejournal.com/795506.html
