How do I ban people from my friends list? I have a bunch of Russians friending me. Or at least their sites are in Russian. Mind, I actually do have a friend over in Russia, but none of these is her.
I did it, over in Add or Remove Friends. Maybe it matters where you are when you do it? Or it may be a feature that depends on which add-ons you have for your browser...
Thanks! And interestingly, some of them left in the meantime -- maybe those ones could read enough English to see this post and leave before possibly being reported? Well, I'm just glad they're gone!
What the previous poster said. You can also check the FAQ for "ban_set", if you are feeling all adminstrative-y, but the easiest way is to hover your cursor over the little man, and REPORT and ben them.
Exactly. Apparently that sort of thing is rather common in recent years, and has happened to more than 1 friend with regard to Russian LJ users.
And I've had something similar happen on Facebook - the user was benign, however, FB is not the brand-new tool that AIM was, years ago (I met Sarra the Lymner that way). I really wish there was some sort of sign I could post in my Facebook account that I am only friending people I have met in-person, or know through the different portions of Etsy that I am social with.
In the case of the Facebook Pokemon-ing, this user had received a friend "suggestion" that included me, as a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a.... you get the idea....
(Renee Signorotti of SCA Corpora fame has also appeared as a suggestion to me. However, I just got a laugh out of FB's widespread suggestion function, and ignored it, since I only emailed her once about a membership issue many moons ago.)
