[personal profile] fitzw called the heating company, who will be sending someone out to check on our leaking water heater and see exactly what's up with it.

I'll be calling my mom tonight (Monday) instead of last night. Something I had Sunday didn't agree with me, so spending a long time on the phone wouldn't have been a possibility. Feeling better today, so far.

Revels meeting went well. Have a better idea of what sorts of things we're looking at doing, and I already have a couple of small jobs. One is finding some music for Efa vC, and the other is to make some juggling fish.

Talked with Annys RC about mask-making. She has a book on making leather masks. Can't vouch for all the methods in the book being medieval, but they'd be leather, which is an appropriate material. I'll send update to the Revels master today on our conversation.

I suppose cleaning up from Yule should be #1 on the list today. Sunday we were pretty tired, altho' [personal profile] fitzw and Rob M got up and met at the Shriners at 9am to pack up the hay bales and trees. Bales are in the driveway, trees are in the back.

[personal profile] fitzw's toying with putting some of the trees behind the studio as a windbreak, since with no snow on the ground there's no natural insulation against the cold and wind, just what we installed in the building. We're definitely going to wrap the bales and use them for insulation around the house's foundation. A warmer foundation leads to a warmer house... It was only $18 for the dozen bales, so really no more expensive than some artificial insulation and cheaper than others.

So, perhaps after the armor's back in the basement (what I can lift), the clothing's in the laundry or attic as appropriate, regalia back in their respective homes, etc., I can read about weaving. I want to set up the new table loom first. Being only 12" max width, I figure it'll be less intimidating to re-learn how to warp than my mother's floor loom. I have some organic cotton that I want to play with anyway, to make some new kitchen towels.

This cotton comes in a number of different colors, all of it grown that way naturally -- no dyes! The colors are muted right now, but as they get exposed to heat from washing the colors will darken and intensify.

just in case, the latkes were yukon gold potatoes, red bliss potatoes, and vadailia onion. There was a bit of black pepper and salt as well. They were cooked in olive oil. If you put sour cream on them, sour cream.

Let me know if you need to know what was in anything else you happened to nibble.

It is so unfair when food fights back.

Oh, not to worry -- I was starting to have problems just before arriving at your place. In fact Annys RC gave me some ginger tea, which probably helped me to get home.

The latkas were very tasty :) I would definitely have them again.

Knowing me, it could even have been the little peppermint candy cane, sigh. Tired tummy. We also had some leftovers from the dayboard, beefstick and brie tarts. I had a brie tart at the event and was fine, and I know she had everything in the fridge, so... I don't know.
