Business meetings last night

helwenWe had a pre-meeting meeting in order to discuss and finish writing up the new version of the definition of the financial committee and details for the financial policy for the barony. It was interesting looking at what Society law was versus Kingdom law. We went with Society law since that supercedes kingdom law.
I brought the linen napkins with me thatellid had forgotten and left at the house Sunday night, which she speedily finished during the meeting. We're most of the way through the servers napkins -- the only ones outstanding are D.Moiselle's and Una's. D.Moiselle's probably already done hers but wasn't at the meeting. Una's are in progress.
Then we had the regular business meeting, went through officer reports, old business, new business, upcoming events, approved the new version of the financial policy so that it can be sent on to the Kingdom Exchequer. We might be doing a demo during winter vacation --ellid will be checking on whether or not the museum still wants us to come and for which days. My schedule's kind of wonky that week with other MTs on vacation or surgical recovery, but if I can make it, I will. Last year most of the patients were on vacation too, so they hardly needed us to come in.
Gave loaner clothing over toetainmbw and family, for some of the Sundered Lands folks. We may still have to work out something for Bish, who's a hearty fellow. I'll probably be bringing every cloak we own, since it may be a bit chilly on Saturday.
Thenfitzw had to meet with Sir Tom and Kathleen H about the tournaments -- rules, scheduling. More work to be done on that front. We have only the one MoL and there's supposed to be both a boar hunt for the fighters and a fencing tournament. Current plan is to get a few volunteers at the event.

Date: 2006-12-05 05:14 pm (UTC)I wish I'd known too. The fencing champion may have his own folks as well (he's from out-barony). It shouldn't be too difficult, and we might be able to get a volunteer more easily for the fencing, since that would indoors where it's nice and warm.
I think that's something we'll have to put into the event steward handbook that we're working on -- event steward needs to check with the people running the various activities to make sure they've taken care of things and/or need help with getting some things done. Often people don't think to ask for help, so the event steward needs to be pro-active.
Speaking of which, I have to look through my stuff and possibly go shopping for prizes -- the currently active fighters and artisans don't seem to be conditioned to think of that. Something else we'll have to work on... although it does mean that I can tie prizes together for themes more easily this year...
