Survived the Weekend...
May. 18th, 2009 10:08 amTwo weekends ago L was ill, but I seemed to be holding up. Then by last Friday, not so well so stayed home from class on Friday. Saturday was decent, and had lots of great conversations with various folks, got to see what
harpnfiddle has been working on. Wasn't focused enough to check in with
gwynt_y_storm on her projects, sigh. Met a number of new folks though, and that was one of the points of the Bergental Town Meeting. Overall, mission accomplished. Some archery happened too, so that was an excellent thing.
Sunday morning I was doing okay, so off we went to the kungfu school to help with cleaning. Lots of folks there, so we all had a good time and much was accomplished there as well.
Rather than drive all the way back up the hill, we stayed in the valley for the afternoon. Saw Star Trek and got a little bit of shopping done.
We both enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Yes, things changed and went in different directions, but as long as you aren't convinced that everything has to follow original canon, then that doesn't matter. Plus it's written into the storyline. Excellent choices in actors too. btw, Majel Barrett can be heard as the voice of the computer one last time (she recorded all her lines before she died).
Sometime during afternoon my innards decided they needed to become unmanageable, so choir practice was less than fun. Sufficient amounts of pepto and other things helped some, and we managed to get home. Slept the sleep of the exhausted (mostly), and am very cautiously optimistic this morning. Avoiding dairy for now, however, since that apparently exacerbate's tummy problems. Need to avoid most fatty foods as well, since this bug affects liver function. Happily there are a few bagels in the house that should do for a couple of meals (leftover from town meeting), and part of a salad from school cleaning, although I'll probably have to cook that so the roughage doesn't kill me (stir fry or soup maybe).
Here's hoping the bug leaves soon. Want to go to class tonight, and then of course there's Roses next weekend...
