Monday, migraine and more. Kept L company at kungfu but did not participate.

Tuesday, migraine better but sneezing and blowing my nose. No fever, yay.

Tuesday night get email from Mom that my cousin Cary's wife Madelein died (just turned 50 a few weeks ago). Later in week we got more details -- brain aneurysms. Her body is on life support as they try to determine if one of her kidneys will be a match for another cousin of mine. That would be one piece of goodness out of that sadness, and of course her other organs will also be donated, per family wishes. She leaves behind a husband and two kids. Thankfully one of them is older and can help out. I only met her a few times but she was a really nice person. She beat cancer several years ago, too. RIP, cousin.

Wednesday I was feeling off enough to stay home and not even watch kungfu class. Did dance a little at home, but only a short bit here and there.

Thursday and Friday I got in walks, and Friday evening made it to class. No fever just snuffly, plus I break out in a rabid sweat the minute I do something. Overheated about halfway through the class and had to sit down for a few minutes, but after I took off my top shirt (I had on a tank top underneath in case we went outside), things were a little more manageable and I finished the class.

Somewhere in there, sewing and other stuff happened. The new tent arrived and we'll be setting it up this weekend to check everything. I helped with loading some of the hay and then L decided I needed to be kept away from dust for a day or two. I'm pretty sure other things happened as well.

Oh yeah. Peredur caught a couple more mice -- only now apparently he's eating most of them. Just a couple of bits left over (yay). L thought maybe he hadn't been eating them before because he was trying to help take care of Roselynde (fresh food!). The vet will be happy to hear the news.

I can sometimes hear Susan Boyle singing in my head now....

So, happy, sad, tiring, inspirational, and just about every other thing a person can experience, all in one week! Let's hope for a more peaceful time next week, for everyone.

I'm sorry for the loss of your cousin. I wish her family strength as they go through this challenging time.

Good on Peredur!

Thanks. Fortunately he has family fairly close by, so he has a good support system in place.

Yeah, Peredur's all growed up now!

Sorry to hear about your cousin. May she rest in peace as she lives on in her donations.

Good for Peredur. Wonder if he can teach my hounds some lessons. I'm sick of smacking my fingers in the traps.

Also, "Yay!" for new tent! We're totally in love with our new Panther.

Thank you for the condolences. Yes, I was glad to hear that my cousin C is arranging donations -- it's a very worthy thing to do.

Peredur's really come into his own. Not sure the hounds can learn mousehunting, since they're sight hounds? Hunting mice requires a lot of patience and listening. I know K can't have cats in the house, but I wonder if a ratter would work? Either that or you'll eventually develop better dexterity at setting traps...

:) We haven't been able to set it up yet (rained), but soon! What kind of tent did you get?

It's funny: Melody at least has spotted them running about. She stares and stares, then she leaps into action - just as the damned thing scampers down a hole. Then she snuffles and sniffs round the hole a bit before looking up at me, confused.

[sigh] C'est la vie.

We got an 18x18' center-pole marquee. Big tent, one-person setup. We put our old bell-back wedge behind it to live in, generally.

We were sniffing around Tentsmiths, because our wedge is Tentsmiths and we love it. But the manner in which Tentsmiths suspends the walls of marquees is far less convenient and versatile than Panther's, and the prices were within a few shillings of each other. That made the choice really simple.

Sounds lovely. Is this new-new, or were you using it at Pennsic last summer?

New new. I was *in* a tent exactly like it last year at Pennsic; Mike (Spanish Peacock) as the exact same tent.

Oo, excellent. I liked his tent. So are you guys sharing space again at Pennsic?

The three of us will be in one big line on the other side of the street. (Hopefully!) So we'll still be together, just not in the same tent(s).
