Thanks. We have this type of container at the farm, so we might actually be able to make them some day. Of course, first we still need to get racks... kind of hard to hang the panniers if you don't have anything to hang them on. Still couldn't bike last year, but I'm thinking I'll be able to this year.
They are brutal in crosswinds. I suggest taking the bikes to the school and riding in the parking lot til you feel stable. Don't commit to having to get home til you are confident of being able to. I'll keep my eyes open for more racks.
