A Mild Complaint
Feb. 19th, 2009 10:05 amI've been ill for over a week now, most of it more nasty than I want to share in graphic detail with most folks. But I've been fever free the past two days, and last night I didn't take the Mucinex because I wanted to get some sleep. Only woke up coughing twice, so not too bad.
Then I start feeling really warm. Naw, couldn't be... finally got too warm to ignore (vaguely queasy even), plus I sneezed a few times. So I took my temp. 99.2F
Darn it.
Norm for me is around 97.4 - 97.6F. One or two more degrees than current and I'll get a raging headache.
Yay for Alleve...
On the plus side, I seem to be coughing less stuff up. Whoot.

Date: 2009-02-20 06:24 am (UTC)Seriously. When I was a wee lad, I got quite ill with something, probably flu. My pappy (God rest him) warmed a couple tumbler's worth of sweet cider, tossed in a few cinnamon sticks, some cloves, and four fingers of Bushmills. 16 oz of this concoction later, I was a very loopy little kid. But pile on the blankets and less than 24 hours later I was the same ADHD-riddled child I was before the infection.
These days, I resort to classic hot grog: rum, water (boiling hot), sugar, and lime juice. Better than Thera-Flu or some other OTC crap. Certes, 'tis more enjoyable!
