We're Back Online!

Short Version:
The ice storm hit our area. Some people lost power as early as 11:00 PM Thursday, like one fellow L talked to who lives in Buckland. Trees were taking down power lines everywhere. At 4:00 AM Friday the power company turned off power to our town because of all the teams they had out on the roads doing repairs. Our part of town was not as badly hit as many other places, but one of the downed power lines was on Baptist Corner Road, between us and the town.
All roads were closed to traffic at first. Rt. 116 was the first road to be opened. Rt. 112 between here and Goshen was still closed yesterday (I don't know about today), because of trees and downed lines. Goshen was hit pretty hard from what we've heard.
We were never without heat although it was interesting at times.
fitzw is currently downstairs checking on the furnace.
All necessities were managed except that we did take
gwynt_y_storm up on her kind offer of a shower (Saturday, when we could get up to town and then down Rt. 116).
We even did a little bit of shopping yesterday, riding around with
gwynt_y_storm, Jeni, and Talie, but decided today we needed to stay close to home because we didn't know when power would come back and the heating system needed extra watching and care.
Power was restored to the business district of town either sometime yesterday or by this morning at the latest. Power was restored to our house by about 1:25 PM today. Happily L was being properly cautious and had the power off to the 2nd floor as he was working on replacing the outlet behind my desk at the time.
We'll still be staying home tonight, to recover from the past few days.
More details in another post.
