Another study: BPA Makes You Stupid (esp. critical for babies and the elderly, but if you're a long-time soda or bottled water drinker, might want to think about the cumulative effects...)

Us, we have stainless steel thermoses -- better than plastic because you can have hot or cold stuff in them. Ours are the vacuum/double-walled types. We got a larger either at Stop & Shop or Big Y (grocery store chains in our area), for only $19.95. We got smaller individual ones at Faces in Northampton, which were $14.95 each -- still not a bad price; they can cost quite a bit.

The small ones are kind of interesting in that the caps are designed so you can pop the center of it down and it opens up to pour without having to unscrew the cap -- very convenient, especially in a car.

That type of cap gets really cruddy inside, so find out how to dis- and reeassemble for cleaning.

Sure, sounds like a good idea. Although so far I've only carried water and tea in it, so no problems so far.
