Ordered some Halloween-themed fabrics from Joann. They haven't all arrived but some are already in the wash today. Most 2 yards (online requirement). I'm waiting on the stuff I want to make curtains from...
I'd been admiring one of the fabrics Danabren had for a bag and realized that my stash, while large, was inadequate. It's perhaps mildly alarming how much fabric I've ordered since the pandemic began...
Some of it I didn't think I'd end up using, too, like the book/library-themed stuff. I mean, I like the fabrics but not enough to have yards of it about. I'd been thinking of doing a fundraiser for the local library and then got overwhelmed with everything else. Now that we're going to need more masks ourselves, I may make some masks for them to sell. They also need some for giving away, but as a fundraiser it could still be a thing. I'm not sure what else would be popular for book-themed stuff... maybe a few shopping/book bags. I picked up some pieces of plain even-weave fabric at the swap earlier this year for lining bags.
I love the purses I see some people making but I don't think I have whatever it takes to do those fiddly things. Well, maybe if I did half of it by hand :D Honestly though, when it comes to cute purses that involve zippers I'd rather throw money at someone. Eh. Not high on my list of things to make, so whatev. I think it's only something I've thought about because of seeing so many of them on the maker/fabric pages lately. I might come back to it in the winter.
I've actually managed to make some not-mask things this year, so go me. Dish towels, pouches, a skirt, the iron palm bags, and I'm working on a couple of shirts, one for me and one for Fitzw. I might make another simple dress, soonish. With a matching mask -- the awesome thing about Spoonflower is being able to get the same design in different materials.
