Several inches of snow here and still falling. Thick and fast enough that I think the road crews are having a tough time keeping up. This thought is caused by the total lack of plows on our road so far this morning.

L has already been out to water the chickens and gather eggs and has the tractor's block getting warmed up. He'll be going out in a bit to do a little plowing around the farm itself. There is the question of plowing before or after the freezing rain... sigh.

Most of the dishes are washed, I'll do a bit more later on. Have a load of laundry going right now.

May or may not be online later in the day, depending on the weather.

May or may not be going to Greenfield and Shelburne Falls to run some errands, depending on the plows and the weather.

Meantime, here's a cool link, courtesy of Loosecanon:

Hell's Cafe

Impressive amount of detail in the decor. I am also amused by the name of the building next to it, "Le Ciel" :D

I've yet to go to a Steampunk themed anything, but the World's Fair sounds great, and a couple of the tech guys will be there this year, as well as friends I only see very rarely. But the Steampunk City also sounds interesting, and they have a museum with cool stuff in it.

Steampunk is funny stuff...While I like the look of Victorian and Victorian-like clothing, when it comes to tech I like it to work -- so making a computer case look more attractive is fine with me, but jewelry made from clock parts that don't work doesn't do it for me -- although L does have a nifty tie tack... but it looks like it could have worked at some point, at least. The above guys do both the beautifying of modern objects and making stuff that actually works.

The World's Fair is in NJ, Steampunk City is in MA, so travel-wise, the latter is better for us. But my friends will be at the World's Fair... and both of these are in May. We'll have been to FL in (probably) April, so that's a lot of traveling for us.

Meantime, it would probably help if I actually had one complete outfit, that isn't kluged together...

OTOH, I'm mostly done with making valances for the apt., which have a Victorian look and feel to them. Not that the living room can go to the fair.... sigh

Stuff that's in - patterns from Rocking Horse Farm, patterns, from Reconstructing History, shoes and stockings from Fugawee, voyageur hats, magnifier in wood case, and hooks & eyes.

Looks like we'll have to correspond with Fugawee to see about shoe sizing. Might be able to stretch my pair, but L's is definitely too small. Nice-looking shoes though, and well-made. The buckles are great!

The patterns should keep me busy for a bit, just browsing through them and trying to figure out which one to start on first...

****
But first... more dishwashing, cleaning, and finishing making those valances, LOL. Oh, and the cover for the freestanding wardrobe too, of course.

And no, we will _not_ be leaving the house to go anywhere today. Snow is plowed, freezing rain is now here.
