What would possess someone to apply 100-year-old trim to a vest.... made of polyester? *shudder*

I'm also wondering this morning if the polyester might chemically damage the trim. Although perhaps not. I had to replace the some of the fabric on an old black skirt (for Smith choir) with polyester because that was what I could afford, and when I looked at the skirt a few years ago, it still seemed to be fine. Not that the skirt is 100 years old, probably more like 50 -- got it from a used clothing store on the cheap.

It looked kinda a pretty in the picture, so it's a real shame. And, they're selling the item for $160. For that much they should have spent another $10-20 dollars for silk. And then they might have been able to ask $200+ for it.
