Hey folks, don't forget to go to The Breast Cancer Site and click the button! It's a free (for the button pusher) way to help provide mammograms for poor/uninsured women in the U.S.

Also, if you look at the site's menu at the top -- the 'folder tabs', you'll see that there are other web sites where you can click buttons for things like helping with hunger and saving the rain forest (those two are international I believe), and other worthy projects.

The tests and such are paid for by advertising sponsors at the web sites, but you are not obligated to buy any of their goods (although sometimes I click on their buttons, just so they know I found them through the fundraising site).

My friend, Irene, passed away yesterday.

Her breast cancer was mis-diagnosed. When they finally identified it, it was too late.

Visitation tomorrow, funeral Sunday... sadness continues.

I'm so sorry to hear it! Indeed, aside from mis-diagnosing, none of the methods are full-proof, be it mammograms, self-exam or whatever. Roen also died because of late discovery of breast cancer -- she couldn't afford the mammograms for a few years, and that additional test may have made all the difference.

Another friend (male) went in last year for back pain that wouldn't go away -- now fighting stage 4 abdominal cancer. He's doing chemo because there are too many tumors. Sometimes you get a miracle, sometimes you don't :(

*hugs*
