[livejournal.com profile] daurdabla and [livejournal.com profile] bytchearse both posted on this -- total lunar eclipse tonight. Most visible part starts at 8:43pm, ET. The guys have links in their posts for more info.

Hoping for a clear sky tonight, for viewing.

Last night we got home from choir practice and just stood outside for a few moments, looking at the finally somewhat starry sky (snow flurries/mini-squalls earlier). So bright with the moon shining down on the snowy fields, you could have read by it even then. We were both up a few times during the night. One time it was late enough that the moon was high over the house, the light so bright on the snow now that it shone in around the edges of the window shades; I had to look.

Blue, black, and white. The shadow of the young maple out back was cast clearly on the snow surrounding it. A magical stillness, full of mystery... and invitation. Too weary last night to make the trek, but perhaps tonight...
