Winter Fare in Greenfield was very crowded (good for them, no so much for us). Did get to see the grain mill attached to an exercise bike (L says looks like a 3-1 ratio between them), and a video of the bike-powered thresher. That was pretty cool; not only functional, but the student made most of it from found materials. There's an interesting bead shop in Greenfield, that has rune pendant beads as well as other nifty stuff. Concentus practice in the evening went pretty well, despite our getting there late -- had a couple of errands to run beforehand.

Prep for Sunday was slowed by one of the cats having digestive difficulties (which continued Sunday evening). Imbolc/Candlemas went pretty well; folks seemed happy, and we had more group participation (S has ideas on increasing that, and we're splitting off at least on of the officer positions to help with this). Footing at the Sunwheel was a little iffy at times -- we'd been thinking it would be slushy, but there was also some water on soft ice in places. But overall we managed. Had a lovely gathering afterward; Jeni startled me at one point -- because of the cat we hadn't finished washing dishes and she helped out with that -- not something I expect guests to do, at least not since my mom was younger and we'd sometimes do that at other people's houses. Very much appreciated, in any case.

Called my mom and chatted for a while, then watched part of the superbowl game. L had to go downstairs and we all went for a trip to Greenfield because of a health emergency. We brought W back home around 1:00 a.m., and now this morning everyone is home again, thank goodness. But in the meantime, the older cat decided she needed to at least attempt to throw up on the carpet in the bedroom once an hour for the rest of the night... Hairball treatment has been served again. Cleaning the apartment for Chinese New Year may be more of a challenge than usual this year....

Exhausted and have a lovely headache, but have things to do. Maybe a nap later...

My concerns about W, hope he's OK.

Just goes to show how lousy my brain's working...

W's okay although he was plenty worried last night. It was M who had to go to the hospital -- fainted in the bathroom and didn't respond when W talked to her, so he rapped on the pipes and that's how L knew to come down and see what was happening. (It's the family intercom for urgent things). She wasn't out long at all, but any time that sort of thing happens, one should go in and be checked out -- although she needed convincing of that (has to be voluntary).

We took W to the hospital because he doesn't drive at night anymore and so we could check on how M was doing. Also, we didn't know if she would be staying overnight or coming back in an hour or so. Final decision was to come back home and wait for a call if she wasn't going to be staying overnight. He took the phone into his bedroom so he'd hear it, and we got to sleep a little after 2:00 a.m... until Roz started throwing up every hour.

L's brother Ray picked M up this morning and brought her home (W had a scheduled doctor appt this morning).

No one on the 2nd floor is doing too well, so we're staying home instead of going to the business meeting. Keep an eye on the kitties, and see if we can get rid of our headaches. I've slept half the day (two naps), but no real change. Also why I'm not online much today, as I have some light sensitivity issues today (Go Migraine! Rah! Rah! Rah!).

But at least M's home again and hopefully she'll feel better soon. Her fluid levels need watching, among other things, but now she's more aware of what's happening and all.

Is the air in the upstairs circulating? One of the risks of battening down is making a sick house, where the air is stagnant.
Also, you are on your secondary water source? Might want to have it blind-tested, the filtration system might need to be updated.

I am glad M is home, that's quite frightening. I'm all the more relieved you are there to support and assist W. He's spry as anything, but he still needs backup.

Air circulation is fine - great thing about old houses :D Even with mostly new windows...

One water source is the spring and the other is a well. As far as we know, there isn't a filtration system.

Indeed, glad we could be there for W. He even said that for a moment there he thought he'd lost her; had a scare a couple of years ago too. She isn't as hardy as he is, plus I shouldn't wonder if there were some lasting effects from falling through the ceiling many, many years ago (stepped between the stringers).
