Starts off with a beautiful description of where he lives, and goes on to talk about everything in the article's title. The section on poetry talks about the oral tradition of poetry, with an example of it from a German WWII concentration camp.
I liked the section on darkness, which illuminates the different feeling several writers had for it, so opposite to the typical modern book/movie/media ideas that tell us to be afraid of it.
