Yesterday we thought it wouldn't be snowing until late afternoon/early evening and were going to do a bit of shopping. The snow had other plans ;)
Nevertheless, I've emptied more boxes this week, most of which are now in the back of the minivan. Also one box of stuff to go into barn storage is in there. The others will wait until tomorrow morning, or perhaps tonight.
The D-man was kind enough, along with assistance from Talie &
etainmbw with doors, to help L move the tall Taiwan cabinet into the livingroom this past Sunday. Yesterday it was one of the pieces to get cleaned and polished, and today some extra bedding and some of the massage therapy stuff are in it. The above-mentioned crew plus
harpnfiddle also moved the garden swing into the barn that day -- everyone grabbed a part of it and they walked it over and up. Yay! It's made of wood, with two benches facing each other, and you move it by pushing with your feet on the floor -- quite nice in warmer weather, but lots of snow and ice isn't good for it.
There should be a gap tomorrow in the weather, which we'll take advantage of to go to my morning PT session and do a bit of shopping -- food for the kitties, some clothing detergent, and cider for the in-laws, at the least, and perhaps some carrots and other bits of stuff. Then back home so L can get in some work on the PC, and do whatever needs to be done to finish battening down the farm's hatches for the weekend.
Because there will be more snow on Saturday and Sunday! Hm, it isn't completely necessary, but maybe we'll get some milk while we're out (Garelick of course -- they're large, but still local). I'm craving pancakes, and fresh milk's nicer than the dry stuff.
Right now the snow is falling so thick and fast that you can still discern the far edge of the field where it meets the woods, but just barely make out the faintest shadow of the top of the hills there. A little disconcerting, as the part of the world past the barn has been erased... the view out the west window is more comforting, looking through the tree branches to the next tree and the one beyond that.
Plenty to do inside, happily enough! I may even try my hand at a little hand-sewing. Just a very little. Mending to do...
