Twice, actually.

First, there was this great sale on Pendleton wools at Denver Fabrics (special purchase), so I got quite a bit of that. Got mostly lovely, subtle stuff, but there was this purple and green plaid... House Oakenhearth's colors are purple and green and I'm sure Roen would have loved it. So I got enough to make myself something told Pagan she can have some too, if she wants.

Second, I finally got to order a tablecloth from Historic Enterprises -- the one with the gryphons. Also a couple of spoons (I need them for my class that I'm developing, you know...), and a Shire book on potteries in England (the how-to, progression of change in manufacturing, not the pots themselves). I asked [personal profile] fitzw if I could order the tablecloth, since it is a bit of money and we have other things we're buying, and after asking how much it was, he said "Sure, what the heck, it's less than fixing the cat!"

To explain, our senior kitty, Roselynde, needed an ultrasound to see what was up with her kidneys (inflamed, and there's a possible something with the liver, but nothing serious as yet) and at the end of the month she's getting her teeth cleaned. Because she's older and because of the kidneys, we'll be bringing her in the day before the procedure to be hydrated by IV and also given antibiotics by IV. They may possibly have to remove one of her canines, but they won't know until she's under and they can get to work on the teeth. Afterwards she'll get a full course of antibiotics orally.

And not a temptation, but my booklets on tabletweaving should be coming from Soper Lane in a week or so. I bought extras of a couple of them, to give to some of the folks here and encourage them in their pursuits.

Anyway, more fun stuff coming in the mail! Yay! Good way to end the work week, which started out kind of hard, physically -- had some good work done on me at the chiropractors today, thank goodness. Was feeling pretty achey and 'old' before that... now I think I might be ready to walk all over the Rhinebeck sheep and wool show tomorrow.

I'm so happy you got to score some pendleton. I have two of their shirts and pretty much live in them.

Best wishes for the cat. It's hard watching them get older.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to playing with it, although not sure when... was thinking of playing with the silk/wool blend I got from Freya this summer, but if Pagan really likes the plaid, maybe she and I can fun being loud together :)

And thanks for the best wishes for Roselynde. She's pretty spry for a 19 year old, and has been pretty low maintenance for most of her life. Since her overall health is decent, I'm hopeful that this will all help to keep her quality of life in a good place.

Poor Roz! I hope it goes well. She's such an elegant kitty.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Oh, and I realized I didn't post the dates for her time at the vet. She goes in on Oct. 30 for the IV stuff, and the dental procedure is happening on Oct. 31. Yes, the vets will be working with a black cat on Halloween...
