...is changing again. I've been reading about potatoes this morning, and went to http://www.woodprairie.com. They are a place in Maine that sells different sorts of potato seeds and potato growing supplies. Although like any crop potatoes should be rotated to different areas every few years, they recommend growing potatoes in soil that has not been grass the previous year. Apparently grassy areas are more prone to having certain kinds of worms that like potatoes. It won't ruin the potato to have a few tiny worm holes in it, but isn't terribly attractive. And I imagine that those potatoes would not keep as well as ones with an intact skin. So, now the potatoes will be going in the bed next to the side of the house, because that's the only bed that is grass-free this year (that I'm freeing up for veggies).
