helwenPast few weeks have been expensive and annoying.
We have two vehicles. The 2007 Honda Civic had to have part of the exhaust system replaced so that we could get it inspected. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica's AC died, but we opted to deal with fixing the Honda first, as inspection was originally supposed to happen months ago, but pandemic. There were some issues with parts or time or whatever, so there were a few trips to and from the Valley in both vehicles, so we could leave the Honda for repair and still get other things done.
Then the Honda decided the ignition locking assembly needed to die, with the key in the ignition. The car is otherwise in good condition, so back we went to deal with that - not inexpensive.
This past Wednesday Lyle went down with the Pacifica to get the AC checked out, which is when we found out about the leak in one of the AC lines. Also not inexpensive.
When we bought it three years ago we were going to conventions, carting lots of stuff and sometimes people. Our lives took a left turn for various reasons though -- which actually caused the problem with the minivan. The lines for the AC system depend on highway driving, least twice a month, to dry out any condensation in the lines -- we didn't know that, so one of the lines corroded. Bad materials choice, in my opinion. We aren't likely to suddenly start doing highway driving on the regular so...
Anyway! We decided to look for something more appropriate to our current lives, so we went shopping today and the Lia dealer had a 2017 Honda Accord on the lot. They hadn't had time to clean it yet so we'll be picking it up on Monday.
Oh! And bonus -- the young woman who went over financials and signing with us had done Harley Quinn-inspired hair <3 I had my Harley mask as backup in my purse so I showed that to her -- we had a good conversation while going over everything.
