All the Snow :D

20" from the storms that went through. Happily all snow, no rain or freezing rain. I hate freezing rain...
Lots of battening of the hatches went on this past week, in particular finding tools all over the property and stowing them away, and wrapping the barn up -- literally, in some cases. Gavin put a lot of work into putting Tyvek under boards where possible, over them in one spot that we're going to have to re-build next year, blocking potential mouse holes, running some Tyvek along the inside of the roof in a couple of trouble spots until we can re-do the roof there next year, etc.
The barn loom is now in the barn, not quite set up yet but all the bits are there. Found more books and unpacked and shelved most of them. Other books we've been re-homing -- a bunch of medieval ones went to people still active in the SCA, and what they don't want for themselves will go to the barony's auction. Apparently Bergental is hosting the Runnymede dinner this year :)
Yet other books have been going to the transfer station -- there's a book exchange there. And a few are being dispensed with permanently, for a variety of reasons -- mostly in very bad condition.
Decided we don't want MZB books in the collection anymore... In some ways too bad as I enjoyed the Darkover books, but I don't really want to promote her books to anyone. There are so many authors in the world writing good stories and creating interesting worlds that there's no reason to hold on to the books of someone who it turns out wasn't a decent human being.
Had my annual checkup -- well, mostly. I have to remember to call the hospital to schedule a mammogram. Anyway! Tests came back, nothing affirmative for RA and some other inflammatory stuff, which is good but also no answer on chronic pain. Typical. Cholesterol levels are still too high but are continuing to drop, so no threat of statins. Will continue to eat apples and increase fruit and veg intake.
Family gathering happening this coming weekend. Zach and Val will be arriving Friday :) Lyle's been getting in some practice baking this week, much to everyone's enjoyment.
