Um.... okay, not sure what happened on which days now...

There was driving to get medicine for the chickens, a new fake Christmas tree for my MIL (hey, it's been at least 20 years for the last one), groceries, dentist (permanent crown), picking up two locally raised turkeys (not live, thank you), delivering eggs, etc.

No kung fu classes because of illness. L's still got a pretty good cough going :(

Yesterday I shopped online/phone at one place for specific items, and we went to the co-op again for more chicken medicine, and some normal grocery shopping. No excessive Black Friday stuff.

I've been moving a bunch of stuff, re-organizing, tossing some things, giving other things away or getting them ready for that. Moved my dresser out of the bedroom (yay for scatter rugs!) and getting the space ready for a wardrobe for hanging L's shirts and coats. The goal is to get all of his clothing on one side of the room and all of mine on the other, so we aren't trying to pass each other quite so much. I think I need to put up one more shelf too...

Finished re-packing L's backpack last night, so it's ready to go back into the car. Yay! I really need space in the living room again so I can cut out fabric...

Today I practiced hand forms, because I just couldn't stand not doing them anymore. L helped me out with Moy Fa, but I managed to remember all the rest of them on my own. Although Yi Lu Chuan kinda s**ked for a while :P

New shoes arrived for kung fu, so I needed to break them in anyway. Actually had to wet down the front halves and then put on wool socks so I could re-shape them. I think they'll work out, but we'll see how they work on the carpet at school. These are the kind that the monks wear, and so far I like them better than any of the modern ones. I practiced outside wearing those, thermals, kung fu pants, silk pullover, Chinese silk winter jacket, and a knit wool scarf.

The scarf is a scrap of merino yardage I got free when I worked at So-Fo Fabrics years ago and isn't even hemmed, but it's one of my favorite scarves. It wraps and clings beautifully, but still lets you breathe. I can't breathe cold air directly because of my asthma, so it's especially useful.

Cautiously optimistic re: MIL's progress. Meds seem to be helping with infection, and acupuncture, massage, etc. seem to be helping with pain levels. She slept well and deeply, and had a genuine smile on her face this morning :)

Brought her boxes of Christmas stuff down today too.

Today should be going to one of the open studios, Stephen Earp's I think. And Historic Deerfield -- they're having demos of all sorts of things today. Or maybe we'll go to Stephen Earp's tomorrow... well, we'll see.
