Family Update

William is ill and has just been taken off to the hospital. Current thought
is possible food poisoning, but we really don't know at this time. Anyway,
the best place for him to get care is at the hospital. Lyle's about to go
there as well, to take Marian there. I'm home, packing for the event and
generally holding down the fort.

Depending on how things go, we may be late to the event tomorrow.

[UPDATE}: He's been settled in at the hospital. Tests will be run. Stable at the moment. Cause of problem still unknown. L and M are back home.

Thank you, both for the thoughts and the healing energy -- I've passed it on to him.

I'll confess I'm not feeling to calm right now... apparently he was vomiting earlier. When we got home from class Marian called L in to work on finishing changing his appliance because she was having trouble with it. While he was working on it (sometimes it's a really finicky process), she told him about how he'd been that evening, and L had her call the EMTs and ambulance. First thing will probably be to hook him up to an IV, since dehydration is a major problem, if it's food poisoning.

It's odd being alone in the house. Usually we all go, but assuming he's okay, we still have to be at an event tomorrow, so there's a lot to do here. I just wish I knew if Marian had called any of the rest of the family or not, because if not I should be at least emailing them... I'm probably just anxious, but right now I'm having a bad feeling about this :(

Thanks. William is settled in for the night at the hospital, so I think the rest of us will catch up a little tonight.

Part of my problem was once I slowed down a little from my event prep, I realized that I didn't know which hospital they'd gone to. I did track them down, but by then they were on their way home.

W's not out of the woods yet, but at least he's got the right people looking out for him. *hugs*

Thanks! So far we're doing all right; although I have a cold, which doesn't help any. When I saw the emergency vehicles outside, I stayed upstairs for that very reason -- plus it's really easy to be in the way in an old farm house.

Various relatives have been doing things here; brother Ray fed the cows this evening, while we were at Novice Schola, and someone shoveled our porch and steps too :)

And hopefully more sleep tonight!
