Saturday I was still kind of tired so I didn't go to the Fiber Twist marketplace. I did make it to the last day of Ashfield's farmers market though. I was going to get a few more squash and ended up getting 10! Sue A. said that if I would buy a bushel I could get it for $10 -- that's 40 lbs. of squash -- I got some butternut and some buttercup, whoot!

I also picked up some storage cabbage from the Songha Farm folks, which keep for a few months. They're very cute, about the half the size of a small store-bought cabbage -- the which have always been more than I wanted at one time. They're just the right size for making a mixed veggie pie :)

Also got a challah loaf from Bread Euphoria as I was on my way to the baby shower for just-in-case, although I shouldn't have worried -- the party was well provisioned. Quite enjoyable and I got to know one of niece Shanna's friends a bit -- Tasha, a medical assistant who's taking more classes; once the kids are both in school she's going for becoming a nurse. A good time was had by all, and I didn't get home until after 3pm!

L called and we talked briefly when he was stopped in Jacksonville. Um, laundry and some other stuff happened and then it was Sunday.

Sunday, having been too tired Friday and too busy Saturday, I made some applesauce -- well, mostly made... um, it's a work in process because I added too much water. Anyway, it'll be fine once I've made some adjustments. I ended up peeling/chopping/etc. instead of using the food mill because instead of trying to cook all of the apples I decided just to work with the ones that needed immediate attention -- the bruised ones. Since I had to remove the bruised areas first I just went from there with the rest of the process. Sauce will have some peels in it because we liked the pink sauce we made last year.

L called from Penn Station and said the train was running on time. I did some more stuff around here, shelling beans, etc. Then off to get a few things in Holyoke and then to pick up L, whose train was a little early. Happily so was I, so I only had to wait a couple of minutes for him. Life is good :)
