Feb. 16th, 2021 04:14 pmWorking on the baldric for the beautiful costrel Lyle got me. I'm thinking I might do some embroidery on it but it's serviceable so I figured it was worth sharing.
I wanted it to be removable in case I need to wash it, but also in case of emergency I can stick the costrel in a knapsack or use a short piece of cord to tie it onto a belt or whatever. The baldric can then be used to wrap around an injured limb or even as an arm sling of sorts.
Materials -- two toggles from an old coat, twill tape a friend got at a sale, linen scrap, and a scrap of swap-meet wool to pad the baldric and also keep it from scrunching in on itself across the shoulder.
Overall shot, closeup of the costrel and attachments, closeup of the attaching system in opened state.
