In particular, check out the Holyoke Edible Forest Garden link: http://www.permaculturenursery.com/ to see if this is something you're interested in learning about. They do workshops and presentations. I first saw a presentation by them at last winter's NOFA conference. [livejournal.com profile] sylvari, they might be willing to do a presentation at the thing we were talking about yesterday (PPD?)

And here is the link for NOFA in Massachusetts: http://www.nofamass.org/

The Resources link looks useful, but have fun looking around!

And to all my friends who celebrate it, may you have a most Happy Christmas tomorrow!

There are many nice things about living in the country, but don't count on all services happening quickly. There's one business handling internet service setup in our area, and there's around 30 people ahead of us. Service at the new place won't be happening until at least mid-January. L would be commuting daily to take care of the chickens (it'll be a while before the barn at the new place is ready), but he will also be commuting for work for a while. And of course if I want/need to be online, I'll have to do the same. It'll be interesting.

I was so focused on the closing and the move that I forgot to send in reservations for EK 12th Night :(

Will try to get to kung fu once this week, just to stay in touch.

Organizing the house is challenging. The kitchen is doing its best to defeat me; I'll do my best to at least get everything onto a shelf, and then hopefully as we use it more, some puzzles will be resolved. The biggest challenge however is how to set up a winter pantry -- the best possibility right now is the front porch, once it's been closed in for greenhouse-duty.

Will also try to take more soaks in the tub this week...only been managing once a week in the past few weeks. Have boosted my Vitamin C levels though, to see if it helps with asthma -- too soon to tell.

Lots more going on in my head, but by the time I get to the family farm I've got other things on my mind... thought about writing on paper, and may manage that here and there, but really, I have work-lists to write up before that, and other more pragmatic activity.
