Was sick before, during, and after vacation/kung fu seminar in Florida. Thankfully we went by train, so no air pressure issues to deal with. Travelled both ways with the other attendees from the Amherst school :)

I expect one reason for lack of recovery from the cold was the humidity, and another was the pollen. Currently both ears are partially blocked as well. Whee.

We managed to go to the two Push Hands sessions and the Warrior Yoga sessions, entirely. Most of the first of the Whip Chain session, and essentially watched the 2nd session and also the ground fighting session. Well, Fitzw gave that a try, but that's a highly physically demanding activity.

We stayed home from the Key Largo trip; others went and either went snorkeling one of two places or went on a glass bottom boat tour.

Made it to South Beach on Thursday, and enjoyed the sun and hanging out in the waves (or Mother Nature's giant neti pot, as Fitzw referred to it at one point).

I'm glad I went, in that we had a good time with friends and learned new things, and also perhaps a lesson on limits. However, if we decide to go next year and I get sick just beforehand, I'm cancelling. I've only been sick for most of a vacation once before (Pennsic*), and it's really quite hard on a person.

So, lots to work on once we're feeling better. Push Hands is really really fun! And Whip Chain (we used weighted rope) was too, when it wasn't being incredibly frustrating -- hard weapon form to master.

Tired now. See y'all later. Take care!

*I didn't start out sick, but the person who took my and B's canvas tent down ahead of time didn't protect it sufficiently from rain while it was folded up, and didn't think to fully dry it out in the sun. Our group was camped down on Roman Road in those days, under the trees.
