Weirdness and Goodness and a Little Badness

Weird - thought I heard a young person call "Dad!" in our bedroom this morning. Had been dreaming (no kids in the dream) and was wide awake after that.

Both of the above - my godfather called this morning. He lives in Switzerland, where it is too cold to go outside right now. Haven't talked to him in ages but his voice sounded the same as ever! Mostly we write now and then. Good conversation, if unexpected.

Weird - right arm is killing me after I put the phone down. L worked on it a bit, I iced, and also took some ibuprofen because it was that bad. Still hurts. I ran through a few simple ROM tests and everything seems to still be attached at least. We're guessing I slept funny and did something to it.

Good - It's sunny out! Yes I know, more snow is one the way, but it isn't here today. So maybe I can go outside for a walk. Exercising inside the apartment can get a little tedious after a while.

Good - I'm most of the way through typing the latest chapter from my mom's book. I'll probably leave the rest of it to tomorrow though, since the arm is being funky.

Bad - stomach's giving me trouble today. Took some ginger, so hopefully I'll head whatever it might be off at the pass.

From the EK 12th Night Steward

Due to predicted snow (don't get me started), the school has pulled our site citing insurance issues! As of right this minute, 12th Night is either cancelled or moved-- but I just received word and will notifiy people as I can.

PLEASE tell anyone you know that is planning on attending-- I will be calling those that I have phone numbers for (or -mails) in a few hours when I have more information.

... has moved to next Saturday. So, L and I won't be going after all. It's too bad, but he already has another commitment for that day. We should be at Birka, however.

Yarn Post

I know it's more usual to post pretty projects, but for the beginning spinners who are perhaps feeling like their spinning will never be as nice as stuff they've seen in-person or on the net, here's a pic of what's either my first or second successful attempt at spinning on my own (I think the class stuff stayed in the classes I took at Pennsic).




Uneven, slubby, and still crimped because I never bothered to set it. I've actually taken it and hung it up just now, since it may not be pretty but it could still be useful. I think it's useful to have an idea of where you started; gives you an idea of how you're progressing. Plus it's useful to show to people when they're taking their first lessons ;)
