Surgery Update and Thanksgiving
Nov. 22nd, 2007 10:16 amSurgery went well. Only a couple of hours -- recovery time was longer. Wake, look at the time, fall asleep, repeat... was better at staying awake once L came in and chatted with me. No arthritis in the joint! Yay! Re-shaped the acromion, and _reattached_ a couple of muscles. Yeah... no wonder I was having trouble using the arm, eh? Because of the bone malformation, they'd never been attached in the right place.
Spent most of yesterday asleep. Watched a few shows, slept some more... Have some gentle movement to do today, then first PT session tomorrow. Pain is manageable.
Yes, for the curious, I'm typing this one-handed... not used to having to actually _look_ at the keyboard... may or may not respond to posts right away, still have to take it easy.
Our celebration of the U.S. holiday was this past Sat. Smaller gathering than usual, but still a happy, merry group.
Definitely have things to be thankful for, now and every day.
Loved ones - friends and family, a roof over my head, food to eat, books to read, things to learn, projects to look forward to, a world to explore/learn about/support/respect. Music and art, stars above, earth below, and waters surrounding. Rest.
Thank you.
