House Update
Sep. 4th, 2007 01:28 pmYesterday we had a total of eight people at the house: me, L, Etain, Patricia, David, Erica, Eli, and Sarah S.
L and I were a little behind schedule on house readiness - among other things, I forgot that after L was done with the plastering that I'd need to do some mudding over/around the areas he worked on.
Also, a 17' truck is apparently much larger than a 14' truck -- of course last time we didn't completely cram the truck either, so that might also explain why it took far longer to pack this time, even though we had nearly 3 times the number of people than last time....
We did get some work done on the house in the morning -- I finished the mudding, and Etain, Erica and Patricia sanded. Since we were also moving stuff, it's probably amazing we got anything done on the house in the morning. Oh, and D and L got two window frame parts attached.
Then we broke for lunch, which was a merry time with much conversation.
Then back to finishing packing up the truck, and getting started on painting a couple of walls (one large, one not). When the truck was loaded, 4 of the crew went with it. The rest of us working on priming and painting. Erica had to leave in the early evening to finish up her teaching plan for Tuesday. Ladies E and P stayed on, and we finished up painting the walls. I also finished up priming on the window frames yesterday.
Sarah S and Eli went home from Ashfield, with D returning with L. Brushes and roller were put in the sink downstairs and we all went out for dinner and to hang out for a bit.
We got quite a lot accomplished yesterday -- YAY!!!

This morning I painted three of the windows' frames. I think the other three will wait until later.... like maybe tomorrow. I need to tidy up from all the moving yesterday -- we were taking out a lot of shelving, so some things no longer have homes. I'll be packing some of it up either to stow in the attic (which has a lot more space in it now) or in the minivan to go up on Saturday.

Got a call from our realtor today. The realtor who previewed the home for her CT clients last week will be coming up with them this Thursday evening. If they like the house as much as she think they will, we should be getting an offer Thursday night/Friday morning.
Meantime, the ad for the open house is going in. If we get an offer we like, we can pull the ad.
Also meantime, we keep working on the house!
But first, I think I might take a short nap...
