Kung Fu

Well, I've had better days! Afraid my knees were none too happy with the cross-seated stances and stuff today. But I did pretty well in the shoulder rolls and back breakfalls.

Oh, and when we were doing hurricane knees practice (you kind of go in a circle, with first one knee going up and then the other, so you sort of jump/turn/spin in the air), one of my feet decided it no longer wanted to participate and so I landed on the outer edge of the foot instead of the bottom of the foot. That of course hurt a bit and so my ankle rolled and I did an impromptu back breakfall without the courtesy of a mat (the regular floor is short carpet over concrete). One of the instructors -- once they'd verified that I hadn't pulled or broken anything, noted that I'd "fallen very gracefully" :D

Ice is my friend, as well as proper hydration! I'm a little concerned about the knees, as they both (right more than left but both) were painful on the outside and to the back. Better with the icing, but hopefully a night's rest will help. And I'll be taking it pretty easy this weekend. And maybe a nice soak in the tub tomorrow...

Thanks :) Left knee is doing all right today, and the left foot is fine too. Just the right knee is a problem now -- super stiff. *sigh* And I was trying to work on loosening the right leg up this past week, grrr. Back to the drawing board...

Time to start wearing knee supports (polypropylene rather than ace-bandage style) in practice - invaluable for twisty-knee type moves. Mature ligaments do not stretch and adapt nearly as well as the 20-something ligaments.

Yes, if only I could find some that actually fit :(
I have the largest I could find, and still need to lose about an inch around the thigh.
